Jesus said we are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill which cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14). We shine in the midst of darkness to show the love of God.
I want to shine, don't you? I want the world to see God's goodness and kindness through me. I want to represent him well, Praise God!
So SHINE BRIGHTER. You possess the spirit of our Father who enables you to shine everywhere you are. The world needs our smile, our gentle touch and our loving spirit.
Ephesians 5:22-23 says, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance against such there is no law."
When we accepted Jesus as savior, we were infused with the fruit of the spirit. You possess every one of these fruit. They are inside of you.
Lately here, we've been seeing more and more impatient drivers on the road. Zooming around and in between cars, honking the horn for someone to get out of their way. Road rage is on the uprise. No patience at all.
Well one day it occurred to me. These people either do not possess God's spirit or they choose not to walk in it. Let's use love for an example. Love is a choice. We can choose to walk in love with others or we can be angry, bitter and allow those results to permeate our being.
You are instilled with the fruit of the spirit; therefore, you can shine brighter than a streetlight. Let the Spirit of Christ move you to be who you really are. Go ahead and shine brighter than a streetlight!
